Pelago brings a sculptural calm to shared environments. Organic contours, concealed joinery, and integrated greenery, a modular concept that shapes space without asserting itself.

Pelago is built around a single design logic.  Individual modules link into configurations that range from a quiet corner cluster to an expansive island anchoring an open hall.

Materials

The character of wood over time

The double-curved surfaces are finished with Rubio hard wax oil, open to the grain. What you touch is the wood itself. Over time, the surface changes in the way all materials do.  Pelago, years into a space, carries the space within it, and it belongs there more completely than it did on the first day.

Colour and materiality

Finished with Rubio Monocoat hard wax oil that bonds directly to the wood fibre, with no VOCs and no chemicals on the SIN list. The surface enhances the natural texture and allows the wood to develop character through use.

Archipelago

Islands in a shared space

Pelago creates spaces that feel considered for the people who share them every day. A cluster that fits in a small corner. An installation that anchors a large hall. This way, a space acquires its own logic, and the people in it begin to know where they belong.

Pilot Project

Emporia installation

Pelago pilot installed at Emporia, Malmö, in 2025. A series of islands configured across a main retail circulation area, with the frame colour matched to the centre's spiral staircase.
